- To be clear, WoW Status is a shareware application. The version that you download is fully functional minus the server alerts feature and being limited to being able to track more than two servers or friends at a time. Purchasing WoW Status will give you a key that is good until a major upgrade of the WoW Status is published, i.e. WoW Status v2. A minimal price will be set for those that need to upgrade, and if they choose not to upgrade they will not lose the features they have already payed for, i.e. WoW Status v1.3 serials give you access to server alerts in WoW Status v1.5.
